Sven Rinman
Sven Rinman (1720–1792) was a Swedish mineralogist, chemist and metallurgist.
Sven Rinman is sometimes called "the father of the Swedish minerology", and made great efforts to improve and renew the methods for producing of iron and steel.
He took up several new mines, started a variety of mills and introduced many inventions, including alumina production from slate, the rolling of copper sheets, and the improvement of the smelting process in steelmaking. In 1753 he became a member of the Swedish Academy of Sciences.
Sven Rinman has named the pigment Rinman's green or cobalt green, a compound of cobalt and zinc oxide.
