Book rooms at the library

For certain activities, different rooms can be booked in the library. Here you can find out how to make a booking and the rules that apply.

There are also rooms within the library that are not part of the library's operations. These are booked through KTH's central room booking system , similar to other rooms at KTH. This includes spaces such as the reading/conference room Ångdomen, as well as the halls/group rooms Lavoisier, Lallerstedt, Hjärne, Rinman, Maxwell, and Salongen.

General information about booking a room

You can learn more about the guidelines for booking rooms at KTH Library on the page Premises at KTH Library .

For all rooms, it is required that the scheduled activity is connected to KTH or deemed to have societal relevance. Please note that the library reserves the right to determine whether a booking can be approved or rejected, based on our need for the rooms and whether students have exam periods. The underlying principle is that events should not disrupt regular operations.

Book events in the Library Hall

We are generally very cautious about larger events in the Library Hall as they can disrupt regular operations. All requests to book our Library Hall should be sent to biblioteket@kth.se, and the library manager will determine if we approve the booking on a case-by-case basis.

Book group rooms

KTH students have the option to book one of the library's seventeen group rooms  or use one of the three non-bookable group rooms behind Ångdomen – rooms 17, 18, and 19. There is also a bookable resource room  for students with certificates from Funka support .

If you want to book multiple group rooms for an event, please contact biblioteket@kth.se to explore options and pricing. A maximum of 6 group rooms for up to 6 hours each day can be booked.

Book time for filming or photo

You must always obtain approval before filming or photographing in the library's premises. Send an inquiry to biblioteket@kth.se. We need the following information to assess your booking request:
