CeXS Technical Report Series

The CeXS Technical Report Series aims to provide researchers with information and protocols in order make it more straightforward to use the PETRA III Swedish Materials Science beamline

The publications in the CeXS Technical Report Series are as follows.

  1. Streamlining in-situ SAXS/WAXS heat treatment experiments at the PETRA III Swedish Materials Science beamline. Tao Zhou, Gabriel Spartacus, Denise McCluskey, Peter Hedström and Fredrik Eriksson. TRITA-ITM-RP 2024:2. 2024. ISBN 978-91-8040-904-9.
This Technical Report provides step-by-step guidelines on how to prepare beamtime proposals, prepare for beamtimes, conduct measurements at the beamtime as well as undertake comprehensive data analysis in order to extract phase information about the main matrix as well as information about precipitates including lattice parameters, precipitate mean radius and volume fraction.

  2. Overview of sample environments for research use at the PETRA III Swedish Materials Science beamline. Gabriel Spartacus, Peter Hedström, Denise McCluskey, Tao Zhou and Fredrik Eriksson. TRITA-ITM-RP 2022:3. 2023. ISBN 978-91-8040-448-8.
The fifteen sample environments that have already been used at the SMS beamline, or can potentially be used there with minor modifications. For each sample environment, readers will find an illustration/photograph, links to fuller descriptions/specifications as well as an example of how the sample environment is used in research. Sample environments are catalogued into the application areas, which means that researchers can now start their search for sample environments by looking up the application area that is relevant to them.

  3. Inventory of data reduction and analysis software used in high-energy X-ray research at PETRA III (WAXS, SAXS, GIWAXS, GISAXS, PDF). Tao Zhou, Denise McCluskey, Peter Hedström, Gabriel Spartacus and Fredrik Eriksson. TRITA-ITM-RP 2022:2. 2022. ISBN 978-91-8040-319-1.
This is a catalogue of software programs that have proven to be useful to the Swedish research community that used the PETRA III synchrotron. The various software programs are categorised as either data reduction software for 2D area detector X-ray scattering images or data analysis software for WAXS, SAXS, GIWAXS, GISAXS, and PDF.
Each software program has a short description of its functionality, notes about the developer, links to the original publication describing the scientific method that the software is based upon, as well as the site for downloading the software program.
