DMMS Autumn 2023 Board Meeting Unveils Strategic Insights
On the 12th of October 2023, the Centre for Design and Management of Manufacturing Systems (DMMS) held its quarterly Board Meeting at Sandvik Coromant in Gimo.
Chaired by Lars-Henrik Jörnving from Scania, the meeting successfully provided valuable insights into members' activities, evaluated DMMS initiatives, and finalized budget allocations.
The meetnig agenda featured key moments, including the introduction of a new board representative, Ann-Karin Högfeldt from KTH Learning. Comprehensive status reports from member organizations, such as Sandvik Coromant, Scania, RISE, Chalmers MCR, KTH IPU, and XPRES, offered a detailed overview of their respective decisions and activities, adding richness to the discussions.
DMMS presented updates on its own activities, showing progress in research, learning initiatives, and technology dissemination. The meeting also addressed crucial financial considerations for 2023, ensuring the effective functioning of DMMS. The discussions also included staffing matters, DMMS agreements, and plans for the center's continuation.
After a networking lunch, the meeting participants engaged in a workshop tour, exploring key focus areas like the Machine Cell Investment Project, Machining Simulation and Optimization, and Set-up Free Turning Processes. The DMMS Autumn 2023 Board Meeting served as a platform for collaboration, strategic planning, and knowledge exchange, highlighting the center's commitment to advancing manufacturing systems through innovative design and effective management.
