aaa: Generating participation, making rhizomes

Open lecture

Atelier d'architecture autogérée (aaa) is a collective based in Paris that conducts explorations, actions and research on urban mutations and sociopolitical practices in the contemporary city. aaa acts through "urban tactics", encouraging inhabitants to self-manage disused urban spaces, engage in nomad and reversible projects. aaa has acquired an international reputation and has become an important reference for contemporary participative practices in architecture and urban design. In this lecture the founders – Doina Petrescu and Constantin Petcou – will describe their work and how it generates micro-political activities among the participants as well as other users, shifting architecture from an elitist profession to a shared activity.

Thursday, September 8 at 18.00, KTH Arkitekturskolan, Östermalmsgatan 26, A2. The lecture will be held in English.

Organized by the KTH Research Cluster for Urban Sustainability in collaboration with Stockholm Association of Architects.
