Jens Nielsen

Jens Nielsen is professor in Systems Biology at the Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. His research is focused on systems biology, modeling of metabolism, and metabolic engineering of cell factories and has resulted in more than 550 publications with an h-index of 90 (Google Scholar) and over 50 patent applications. The research range from basic research in human and microbial biology to more applied research, including development of biotech processes and clinical applications in many areas of medicine. He has founded several companies and serves as president of the International Metabolic Engineering Society.

Professor Nielsen is group leader for the Systems Biology of the Druggable Proteome program.
