The course is based on an individual or in Group carried out project work in metallic and ceramic materials properties or manufacture. The student will independently formulate, experimentally investigate, present, and report a technical material science projects.

Intended learning outcomes
The goal is to provide the participant with an opportunity to further train the different phases of a project work, which has been formulated in the course Degree Project in Materials and Process Design, basic level, or similar, i.e.:
-independently formulate, tackle and solve a technical problem
-to present the work carried out during a seminar
-to write a full scientific technical report
After finishing the course, the participant shall have received in-depth training and further knowledge of:
-metallic and ceramic materials properties
-how technical problems are formulated and solved with the help of scientific methodology
-how to write a technical report with requirements on content, structure and language (corresponding to TNC's standards)
-how to perform during presentation of own work
