Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The requirement for a compulsory traineeship has been removed for many years from the 5-year engineering degree. However, many students recognise the importance of gaining relevant engineering experience during their studies and therefore work in parallel for example in an industrial company, a company in the financial sector or perhaps in an engineering consultancy. Sometimes the company has designed a specific role often called "internship" offered to one or a few students each year. Sometimes it is a regular part-time position.

In this course, you will deepen your knowledge of the challenges you may face in your future professional role as an engineer by reflecting and problematising your experiences from an internship and putting it in relation to your learning during your studies at KTH.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to:

1. Document and problematise the experiences from an internship that the student has or has had during their studies at KTH

2. Reflect on how the learning and the skills that the student has developed during their training programme link to the internship.
