Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The contents, change and new requirements of engineering work; Organizational preconditions for knowledge transfer and creativity; The supervision process, Psychological contractual theory, Generation stereotypes, Basic coaching techniques (T-GROW), Career development and Kolb' s learning cycle

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the participants should:

  • have good theoretical as well as practical knowledge of how to supervise an engineering trainee
  • be able to apply presented leadership methods and tools
  • have knowledge of organizational prerequisites for knowledge transfer and creativity
  • having developed his own personal leadership

Examination and completion

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Examination

  • TEN1 - Home Exam, 3.0 credits, grading scale: P, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

Examination parts are:

  • Attendance and active participation
  • Passed written assignments (3 pcs)
  • Passed take-home examination
