Course contents
Intended learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student shall be able to:
- Perform an analysis of a community’s water needs
- Design water mains for a community
- Define a catchment area for a water intake and perform a water balance calculation.
- Construct a conceptual model of an aquifer
- Identify interest conflicts at water outtakes and propose a water conservation area for the region
- Present maps in GIS
- Use simple analysis methods in GIS
- Submit a completed, written investigation of a water supply
- Give a presentation on the completed investigation

Students in year 3 of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering programme Constructional Engineering and Design.
