The course is intended for graduate students or researchers in academic or industrial environments with an interest in corrosion aspects related to materials science, chemistry and engineering. Corrosion is a truly interdisciplinary science and the aim is to discuss the underlying chemistry and physics of the most important forms of metal corrosion. The course deals with fundamental aspects in relation to applied aspects in relation to applied issues. The course differs from the master course in Corrosion and Surface protection (KD2380), which mainly provides an overall understanding of corrosion processes from an applied perspective.
