Course contents

Seminars by well-known researchers covering various research areas with high relevance for Fiber and Polymer Science.

Intended learning outcomes

After completing the course the student should be able to

  • show both broad and specialized knowledge in the general field of fiber and polymer science
  • demonstrate the ability to pedagogically present, critically review and discuss about own and others' scientific work in the subject area in writing
  • demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of scientific methods, experimental planning and evaluation of analysis results relevant to the course's scientific field
  • demonstrate the ability to identify, discuss and reflect on ethical and sustainability aspects of the research that is being dealt with within the course

Specific prerequisites

Participants should be enrolled at the Doctoral Program Chemical Science and Engineering at CBH, Fiber- and polymer science.

Recommended prerequisites

Master degree  in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, soft matter, nanotechnology or similar.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

Each seminar should be documented by:

  • short bio of the speaker
  • summary of the seminar content

and a critical assessment on how the newly acquired knowledge could be used by the student in her/his projects. This would also require reference to appropriate papers authored by the speaker. In total, the written text should not exceed 1 A4 per seminar.
