Booking and Storage
Book a studio space in Skedda
Check availability and make bookings at https://midstudios.skedda.com/.
You will still need keycard access to use the space!
Studios can be booked as a whole, Middla can be booked in whole or in part.
Unless booked all spaces are available on a drop-in basis and booking helps your colleagues plan their usage of the space too.
- Please remember to cancel your booking if you decide not to use it.
- Please think in a community way when booking, don't book entire days "just in case", but just what you need.
If you are making your first cuts or prints with the laser or the 3D printer, you need to have completed the Middla Driving License in Canvas and have the Studio Manager observe your first run.
Within Middla you can book:
- Whiteboard / Projector - perfect for brainstorming or practicing a presentation with your group. The workbench in front of the whiteboard is included in your booking.
- Workbench 1 - the first of three workbenches in the main floor of Middla. The other two are drop-in only. If you want to spread out without feeling guilty, booking this is a great option.
- Laser cutter - it's especially worth booking if you are at the beginning of your laser career, so you don't have to stress.
- 3D Printer S5 - the larger of the two 3D printers can be booked to ensure access or if you are running a longer print
- Soldering station 1 - one of the 2-3 places at the soldering station is bookable.
- Meeting area - desk with seating for 4-6 people just to the left of the entrance.
- Lounge area - book yourself in for some board games, lego or reading in the couches.
Storage at Middla
If you have card access to Middla you are also welcome to store some materials here at your own risk.
Students can use a clear plastic Smartstore 16 or smaller in the shelving in the corridor. These can be bought at Clas Ohlson, Rusta, larger ICA stores and more. The max height and depth for a box is 30x30cm. Faculty and PHD students can store an appropriately sized container under workbenches inside Middla. Boxes must be clearly marked with your course number and KTH userid. One week after course ends the contents of the box become property of Middla. To save space please don't use a larger box than needed and consider sharing a box with a classmate. Mark with both IDs.
You MAY NOT store lithium batteries, aerosol cans (spraypaint etc) or chemicals in your storage box. These must be stored, clearly marked, in the chemical cabinet and battery box in Middla and a mail sent to mid-studios@kth.se.
If you have other more specific storage needs talk to your studio manager.
