1.4.h Open Lab, Innovations for the Emerging City
second cycle, fifth year – 15 credits
Finding solutions to difficult problems often requires thinking in new ways. New approaches can be difficult to introduce in large organisations and companies with well-established methods and thought processes. OpenLab offers a new way of learning new things through collaboration between different fields and professional roles. Here, people learn how a team can work efficiently on projects focusing on specific issues and with the participation of the client. The client in turn gets new ideas for solutions to important issues that will affect society in the near future.
The course includes working in interdisciplinary groups to find solutions to societal challenges and the results will be presented both to the stakeholders and the public. The course is offered to students with a bachelor degree in engineering, medicine, economics, law, humanities or equivalent. Teams of 7-8 students.
