Course goals
After the course, the student should be able to
- describe the general principles of information theoretic security
- explain fundamental concepts and tools of information theoretic security such as
perfect secrecy, wiretap codebook, secret sharing codebook, secrecy capacity, secret
key capacity etc. - prove the most fundamental theorems in the subject of information theoretic security
- using the concepts and tools in the area to formulate the problem and solve them in
new setups
Course disposition
The course consists of the following learning activities
- Online lectures and reflections
- Problem solving
- Research paper presentation
The course is worth 8hp and classified as advanced graduate course in the EE doctoral program.
Pass criterion
To pass the course, the student has
- accomplished at least 6 themes of the online lectures
- achieved at least 28 points from the problem solving
- successully presented a research paper

Registration and course start
Once the course is developed (expected autumn 2015), the course can be taken at any time and also remote studies will be supported. At the moment, the course is not considered to be open for external students. Please contact Tobias Oechtering if you are interested.
Course history and development
An ealier version of this course has been previously taught and developed by Somayen Salimi and Tobias Oechtering in autumn 2013. The objective of this course revision is to make the course more flexible and open in content and operation.
