Study Plan

The last two years in the engineering programme follow the same courses as existing master’s programmes. As a double degree student you do not need to follow a master’s programme but it is a good idea if you take most courses from one since you should do your master’s degree project in that field. A guideline is to take at least 42 credits or more within the mandatory and the conditionally elective courses from one master’s programme. The study plans can be found here:

Minimum requirements in credit units for the KTH Diploma:


* Technical/science courses – 60 credits of technical courses at advanced level
* Swedish language courses and/or elective courses – 30 ECTS credit (for example if you are able to skip one level of Swedish you can choose an elective course instead) For your double degree you need to pass Swedish B1/B2.
* Final Degree Project – 30 credits
You will only be able to take one extra course in total so plan your studies well (a maximum of 127.5 credits).

Your Study Plan will have to be approved by the responsible for your specialisation, the programme director.
