Guest lecture by Håkan Zeffer, Wind River.

Håkan has a MSc in comptuer engineering from KTH. After his PhD degree at Uppsala University Håkan moved to USA and worked at Sun Microsystems with the Rock processor, the world's first (and so far only) processor supporting transactional memory (TM) in hardware.

Håkan will talk about TM and the Rock processor in this lecture. Read about Rock here.

Intel has also announced that they will support TM in their upcoming Haswell processor.
