Bengt Oberger is an economist and has worked for 35 years with Swedish Government Development Cooperation with countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. He is now retired and is engaged in the Wikipedia movement, foremost as a member of the board of Wikimedia Sweden and as an contributor to the Swedish language Wikipedia and to the Wikimedia Commons media database (User:Boberger/Användare:Boberger).

Bengt Oberger has primarily worked as a government officer with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), with matters to do with development of small businesses and business environment and in later years also with miscellaneous Information and Commucations Technology practical and policy issues in a few  developing countries.
