Welcome to Performance Analysis of Communication Networks
This course focuses on modeling and analyzing communication networks, network protocols and applications, using mathematical tools. It is designed for advanced undergraduates and graduate students. By the end of the course students will be able to construct tractable models of complex networking problems and attack performance problems with analytical methods. These abilities are necessary for everyone working on technical fields - to understand the capabilities of specific technologies and the success or failure of new trends. The course covers many of the significant research papers of the area, presenting different techniques of modeling and performance evaluation. Topics include the discussion of traffic descriptions and performance measures, the evaluation of congestion control, fairness and scheduling solutions, and techniques for reliable multimedia communication.
Graduate students should contact the instructor for admission.
