Examination

See details on the exam results with solutions under Previous Exams.

Examination requirements There are two moments in the course:

* homework and small project
* written exam
You have to pass both of these moments to pass the course. You are graded based on your written exam. Grades A-F.

Those who do not pass the exam, can take the make-up exam in June, or any other exam in the future. The ones who do not pass the moment of home assignment and small project, will get additional problems to solve, but 5 points will be deducted from the exam results.

Written exam There is a written exam at the end of the course. The exam consists of five problems of ten points each. Allowed aids is the Beta mathematical handbook and calculator. The queuing-theory formula sheet, Erlang tables and Laplace transforms will be provided with the exam if necessary.

Practicalities:

The exam and make-up exam dates, time and location are given in the Schedule.

Registration is mandatory for taking the exam and the make-up exam and must be made two weeks before the exam date.

Possibility for complementing the exam: if you missed the pass level with 2 (out of 50) points, you get grade Fx and have the opportunity to complement your exam to E. If you have received Fx contact the teacher (vfodor@kth.se) as soon as possible. You have the opportunity to complemet to E, but you have to do it within 6 weeks after the Fx has been reported (until ca. end of February for the main exam and end of September for the make-up exam).

If you need to complain about the grading, you can submit complaints through STEX. Please ask them about the exact process.
