Course description

The field of communication has radically changed our lives and societies. The Web and its search engines, Internet and mobile telephony, peer-to-peer file sharing, podcasting and social networks, as well as audio and video streaming: they all affect our daily lives; they free us in the choices of how and where we work, relax, play and socialize. Systems are increasingly connected in networks, and buildings, vehicles, factories, health care, transportation systems are all examples of where we find networked systems.

The purpose of the course is to give an introduction into the communication of data over networks. It gives knowledge of network systems and the services they provide, and it prepares the student for further studies in the areas.

The course is taught in Swedish. For non-Swedish speaking students, we may offer tutored self-study. Please contact the responsible teacher.
