Detailed schedule for prosamm14 (students starting the Computer science master's program in 2014)

This course will run for two full years. It consists of one reflection seminar each period and two study visits to different IT companies.

Period 1, 2014

Lecture September 2, 8.15-10.00, in room V2
Introduction to the course and the master's program.

Lecture September 11, 13.15-15.00, in seminar room 1537 (see the "Rooms for seminars" web page)
Introduction to studies at KTH.
This lecture is only for students who have not studied at KTH before.

Reflection seminar 1 September 16, 8.00-10.00, and September 23, 8.00-10.00 (different times and rooms for different groups)
Topic: The computer science master's program - intended learning outcomes and contents.
Your written reflection must be handed in before September 11, at 24.00.

Period 2, 2014

Information November 6, 17.15-19.00, in room F2
Information about elective specializations and courses.

Study visit 1 in November or December
November 7 the lists where you apply for different companies to visit are announced.
November 10 is the last day for applying for a study visit.
Between November 13 and December 4 the study visit will take place.

Reflection seminar 2 December 16, 8.00-10.00, and December 18, 15.00-17.00 (different times and rooms for different groups)
Topic: The study visit and employability.
Your written reflection must be handed in before December 11, at 24.00.

Period 3, 2015

Topic: Getting deeper knowledge of certain parts of the field: the specialization and the master's thesis.

Every student and teacher of the master's program are invited to come and discuss the program.
