Samhällsbyggandet är projektbaserat och byggherren har en viktig roll för de projekt som initieras. Det kan t.ex. vara nybyggnad, ombyggnad/renovering eller utbyggnad. Byggherren beskrivs ofta som en "innovationsdrivare" eller "förändringsagent" för ett mer innovativt och hållbart samhällsbyggande.
Syfte
Syftet med kursen är att introducera, reflektera över, tillämpa och utvärdera koncept, verktyg och metoder för projektkommunikation. Kursen är på avancerad nivå och ges på engelska. Det ingår vetenskaplig litteratur och praktiska exempel.
Vad är projektkommunikation?
Projektkommunikation handlar om byggherrens perspektiv på att planera, organisera, leda, upphandla och styra byggprojekt från inledande planering till överlämnandet. Således kombineras projektledning, fastighetsutveckling, byggprojektledning samt organisation och ledarskap.

The built environment is project-based and the construction client has an important role in relation to the projects that are initiated. The construction client is often described as an "innovation supporter" or "change agent" for a more innovative and sustainable built environment.
Aim
The aim of the course is to introduce, reflect on, apply and evaluate concepts, tools and methods for project communication. The course is on advanced level and the course language is English. The course includes scientific literature and practical examples.
What is Project communication?
Project communication covers the construction client’s perspective on planning, organizing, managing, procuring and controlling construction projects from the initial planning to handing over. Thus, it combines project management, real estate planning, construction management and organization and leadership.
What is a Construction Client?
Construction clients are “the initiators of projects and those that contract with other parties for the supply of construction goods or services” (Atkin & Flanagan, 1995, in Boyd & Chinyio, 2006, p. 5).
A construction client can be private or public, it can be an individual or an organization. The construction client can be long term or short term focused, it can build for own use, to lease or to sell.
