Book release - Daniel Solomon, Love versus Hope
Welcome to the release of Love versus Hope by Daniel Solomon, organized by the Centre for the Future of Places.
Tid: Må 2019-05-06 kl 14.00 - 16.00
Plats: Teknikringen 10B, Lounge
Mithun partner Daniel Solomon has written an engaging new book “Housing and the City,
Love versus Hope”—placing his own fifty-year career in a century of broad conflict between two antagonistic conceptions of the modern; one which sought to eradicate the pre-modern city and another that treated it with reverence.
Daniel Solomon is an architect and urban designer whose housing, mixed-use buildings, and urban neighborhoods have received more than 100 design awards. He is professor emeritus at UC Berkeley, and was cofounder of the Congress for the New Urbanism and coauthor of its charter. He is the author of four previous books: (Re)Building, Global City Blues, Cosmopolis, and Bedside Essays for Lovers (of Cities). He is partner in Mithun/Solomon, San Francisco.
