- Welding and joining of lightweight metals
- The research is mainly funded by VINNOVAs SIPs, Industrial partners (SSAB, Volvo Group, Cargotec, among other) and KTH in collaboration with other institutes and universities (Swerim, Chalmers University of Technology, among other).
- Yearly endowment through SSAB (Swedish Steel Company)
Current PhD students:
Martin Edgren: Prolonged life for existing steel bridges and structural health monitoring
Mehdi Ghanadi: Thinness effect in fatigue of welded high strength steels
Yu Zhu: Simulation of laser high speed cladding for railway applications (in collaboration with Prof. L Zhang, BJTU)
Kaushik Iyer: LCC modeling and analysis of post-weld treated welded structures (in collaboration with Prof. M Åkermo and Assoc. Prof. P Wennhage)
