About me

Zeinab Shirvani is a Digital Futures Postdoctoral Fellow at the Division of Geoinformatics, KTH, where she has been working under the supervision of Prof. Yifang Ban since June 2023. She holds a PhD in Remote Sensing/Cartography with a focus on forest disturbances, which she obtained from TUD, Germany, in 2020. Prior to her current position, Zeinab worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) for two years. During her research career, Zeinab has made significant contributions to remote sensing and machine learning, particularly in the mapping of woodland fires in tropical dry forests using RAUNet. Her expertise lies in the application of geospatial artificial intelligence and remote sensing techniques to study forest disturbances.
