About me

My research concerns the utilization of timber within the context of structural engineering. Feel free to contact me if you are curious. :-)

Please kindly refer to a recent Special Issue I am working on:

'Sustainable Architecture, Structural Design, and Environmental Engineering'

Link: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/sustainability/special_issues/F45N2I726Y

Recently, I have also been working:

1. Wooden rods as CPG (compression perpendicular to the grain) reinforcements.

Reinforing mechanism of wooden rods glued in glulam beams.

2. The buckling behavior of pure-wooden CLT (cross-laminated timber) panels.

Buckling tests at Treteknisk, Olso, Norway

3. Wooden dowels as mechanical fasteners, and their macro- and micro-failure mechanism.

Some typical failure modes of wooden dowels.

I am also interested in digital image correlations and other vision-based measuring techniques:

Conntour demonstraing the compressive strain distribution of a locally loaded CPG specimen.
