Mattias Wiggberg, born 1976, is a computer scientist and business economist at Industrial Economy, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. His current research interest is in the field of digital transformation, involving AI, digital excellence in organisations, educational transformation, IoT and big data.

He received the B.Sc. degree in business studies, in 2002, the M.Sc. degree in computer science, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science, in 2010, from Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden. Dr. Wiggberg has done research periods at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, in 2002, and studied leadership and management at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, U.K., in 2015.

He was a member of the University Board (Consistory) of Uppsala University 2006 - 2008, and a member of the Executive Management Group, CSC/KTH Royal Institute of Technology 2012 - 2017. He was the Chief of Staff with the School of Computer Science and Communication, KTH Royal Institute of Technology 2012 - 2018.

He has been a member of the Fores Research Council, Sweden, a Research Advisor with the AI Sustainability Center and serves as senior advisor to AI-based start-ups. Notable expert appointments for Swedish governmental authorities have been as an evaluator for higher education, AI-expert and investigator of digital excellence.

Dr. Wiggberg co-founded Nordic Observatory of AIand Software Development Academy. He was finalist in Tech Talent Awards and was selected Teacher of the Year 2021 by the students of KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He is currently heading international research projects, where he also supervises  PhD-students, on AI in media industry.

Dr. Wiggberg was elected Digital Futures faculty in 2020.
