SPFIT

SPfit is a Matlab-based Software for Fitting Experimental Magnetization Curves of Superparamagnetic Nanoparticles. Its user-friendly graphical interface allows to easily find the best fitting curve to log-normal size distribution, together with the most relevant parameters concerning superparamagnetic nanoparticles. The magnetic diameter, saturation magnetization, and coercivity are provided by the fit, once the experimental data are uploaded as an Excel sheet. The software also computes the probability density function (PDF) and the cumulative distribution function (CDF) for the nanoparticle size.

Furthermore, by setting a size interval, it is possible to obtain the relative amount of nanoparticles in that interval. The possibility to set the bulk magnetization, the sample weight, and the temperature is the key point of the distributed software, enabling the analysis of nanoparticles in a wide range of conditions and applications. Distributed as an executable file, it can work on platforms not equipped with Matlab. The Matlab Compiler Runtime (MCR) is automatically downloaded and installed if not found on the machine.
