Nanochemistry Lab

NANOMATERIALS SYNTHESIS LAB

The expertise of the group is on solution based synthetic techniques. The group is well equipped for nanoparticles and nanomaterials synthesis using solvothermal/hydrothermal, reduction in solution, co-precipitation, thermolysis, and microemulsion techniques. Green chemistry is an important theme that is widely implemented in the lab, whenever applicable, for the selection of reaction precursors and synthetic routes/protocols. For the applications requiring further processing the lab has the competence for integrating nanomaterials to different solid and liquid media for the fabrication of hybrid materials. In applications where materials are processed at high tempeartures and pressures infrastructure SPS facility at SU is widely utilised.

NANOMATERIALS CHARACTERIZATION LAB

The research group is currently hosting a comprehensive set of analytical techniques.

  • DLS - Zeta Potential (Malvern ZS90)
  • TGA 550 (TA Instruments)
  • UV-Vis spectrophotometer (Nano-photometer -Implen)
  • FT-IR Spectroscopy (Thermo-Fisher)
  • Evolved Gas Analysis - EGA
  • Photoluminescence Analysis - PL (JASCO)
