Tirza Meyer
About me
I am a contemporary historian and postdoctoral researcher in the history of media and environment with a specific focus on the history of ocean governance and environment. You can read about my current project Humanoid Oceans about the history of underwater technology here. My broader research interests are the Blue Humanities,environmental history, the history of the Law of the Sea,ocean governance concepts,science and technology and human-ocean relations.
I am affiliated with the Formas-funded project “The Mediated Planet: Claiming Data for Environmental SDGs” and with the WASP-HS Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program – Humanities and Society project “Media and Environment: AI and Autonomous Systems in Data-based Environmental Research".
I am also affiliated with the Oslo School of Environmental Humanities and I am a member of the Collaboratory Media Seas of the High North Atlantic.
