About me
Christian Thomann is Associate Professor of Corporate Finance at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at Swedish House of Finance (SHoF) and an affiliated researcher at MISUM. Thomann’s current research interests lie in (i) Corporate responses to carbon taxes, ii) Environmental Policy and Technical Change, iii) Risk Management and Insurance.
From 2010 until 2022 he worked at the Swedish Ministry of Finance where he was senior advisor at the tax and customs department. From 2017 until 2021 he was vice chair of the OECD's working party on tax policy analysis. He is currently serving as an expert in the commission for the review of the tax reform (a commission under the ministry of finance (Fi 2021:07)).
Christian Thomann's research has been published in the Review of Financial Studies (2022 and 2024), Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Risk and Insurance and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
Currently, Christian Thomann's research projects are supported by grants from Vetenskapsrådet (Swedish Research Council), Marianne och Marcus Wallenbergs Foundation, Jan Wallanders och Tom Hedelius stiftelse and Digital futures and the City of Stockholm.
