About me
Mateusz Maciej Swillo was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology (pl. Politechnika Warszawska) in 2021. His bachelor thesis was titled "Project of a steel structure inspired by the Kobe Port Tower in the form of a space truss". Mateusz is expected to complete his master at the Civil and Architectural Engineering program at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2024. His master thesis titled "Investigation of spiling behavior with respect to block size and joint orientation" was undertaken in collaboration with Itasca Consultants AB and has featured numerical modeling in UDEC. Its aim was to provide more insight into how aspects of geological conditions can help facilitate the standardization of spiling design. His current research is to contribute knowledge within rock mechanics that could aid the development of national guidelines for spiling design.
