Om mig
Ivan Stenius received his M.Sc. in Lightweight structures from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in 2003. He received a Technical licentiate from KTH, Lightweight structures, in 2007 a degree of Doctor in Technology KTH, Lightweight Structures on hydroelasticity and fluid structure interactions on high-speed craft in 2009. Stenius is currently full time associate professor at the department of Engineering Mechanics at KTH. Stenius research interests and expertise lie in composite materials, fluid-structure interactions and hydrodynamics, hydrofoiling technologies, electric propulsion, marine robotics, model based systems engineering and dynamics of underactuated systems. He has been the lead developer of design and analysis software tools in collaboration with FMV and The Swedish Coast Guard. He has been PI for a number of research projects in collaboration with industry partners (such as the Swedish Defence Material Administration and Saab), involving cross-disciplinary collaboration between the research groups computer vision and perception, applied electrochemistry, and networked control at KTH. Stenius research on hydrofoiling technologies and electric propulsion for marine craft has resulted in a spin-off company (Zparq AB) for marine electric propulsion. Stenius has in the recent years been heavily involved in building up a research group in underwater technology and maritime robotics at KTH and he is currently PI of the Swedish Maritime Robotics Centre (SMaRC) hosted by KTH, which is Swedens largest academic investment in underwater robotics.
