About me
I am associate professor in geotehnical risk management at the Division of Soil and Rock Mechanics. During 2019-2024 I have partly been guest researcher at the Engineering Risk Analysis Group at the Technical University of Munich. My main field of research is risk and safety analysis in geotechnical engineering. Currently, I focus on how reliability-based methods can be used to account for risks and uncertainties in a rational way, in order to minimise the costs and use of resources throughout the life cycle of the structure, without violating safety requirements. In addition to my position at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, I am involved in the National Implementation Commission for Eurocode 7, and member of ISSMGE TC206 Observational method and TC304 Risk. I also take on expert assignments in my own company, GeoSpross AB.
On bachelor and master level, I mainly teach in the courses Geoscience and geotechnical engineering, Soil mechanics and foundation engineering, Rock mechanics, Applied statistics, and Theory and methodology of science and risk and safety analysis in building sciences. I am also director of postgraduate studies in civil and architectural engineering.
