About me
Shervin Bagheri (Docent, PhD, MSc) is a professor in fluid mechanics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He leads the research group Fluids and Surfaces, which was established in 2017. The group's research focuses on understanding fundamental mechanisms of transport processes in flowing fluids and materials. Numerical calculations and experiments are used to develop new knowledge and tools for researchers and engineers to address important technical challenges. Examples of research questions include: How can we tailor surfaces on vessels and industrial processes to minimize energy consumption? How can we create a porous material to capture CO2?
His research is funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR), the Swedish Energy Agency, the Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF), the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW), and the European Research Council (ERC).
He has a strong commitment to outreach activities and research policy. He is a member of the Young Academy of Sweden (2020-2025), where he also serves as a spokesperson for research policy.
