About me
Niclas Roxhed was born in 1978 in Stockholm, Sweden. He received his M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering in 2003 and Ph.D. degree in microsystem technology in 2007, both from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. He is currently Associate Professor and a team leader of medical microsystems at KTH and an affiliated researcher with Bob Langer's lab, Koch Institute of Integrative Cancer Research, MIT Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, USA. He is the director of MedTechLabs, a joint KTH/Karolinska Institutet/Region Stockholm interdisciplinary center for medical technology research and co-founder of several start-ups based on his research. He is a member of the international steering committee of the IEEE MicroElectroMechanical Systems conference, the International Microneedle conference and was the general co-chair of IEEE MEMS 2021. His main research fields are sensors for medical diagnostics, MEMS-based drug delivery and sampling systems. Dr. Roxhed has authored more than 100 scientific papers and is an inventor of over 35 patents.
