The basic research fields for Dr Rahmat Khodabandeh are:
· Refrigerants with low Global Warming Potential (GWP)
· Using liquid cooling for electronic components such as, Thermosyphons, Heat pipes and Sprays
· Heat Transfer in Mini and Micro channels
· Natural refrigerants for cooling applications
· Using Nano-Fluids for Enhancement of Heat Transfer
· Enhanced heat transfer of compact heat exchanger
· Using low grade heat in Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC)
