Pawel Maniewski received his M.Sc. in 2016 in Optical Engineering at Fiber Optics Group, Wroclaw University of Technology. In 2017 he started Ph.D. studies at the Department of Applied Physics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, and in early 2022 he defended his Ph.D. in Physics. In 2023, he was a researcher at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden working with fiber optics.
Maniewski’s past projects include additive manufacturing and 3D printing, optical measurements, fiber sensors, specialty fibers, and fiber-based microfluidic diagnostic tools.
His current activities are mainly focused on powder-based additive manufacturing of silica glass – a unique worldwide technology for fast prototyping of various optical components.
Maniewski is authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals as first author and also received two ‘Best Poster Awards’ (IEEE). His articles were also selected as feature covers (Journal of American Ceramic Society & Optica), and selected for the prestigious series ‘Spotlight on Optics’ featuring high-quality articles published by Optica (formerly Optical Society of America),
Maniewski is a recipient of a Postdoc Grant by Vetenskaprådet (Swedish Research Council) and is currently working in close collaboration with the Optoelectronic Research Centre in Southampton, UK.
