Nikolaos Kolomvakis

I am currently a researcher in the Division of Communication Systems at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden working with prof. Emil Björnson, and also a visiting reseacher at Ericsson AB, Stockholm, Sweden. From 2017 to 2023, I held the positions of a Systems Engineer and Senior Researcher at Ericsson AB in Stockholm, Sweden.

Before joining Ericsson, I obtained the Ph.D. degree in wireless communications from the Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden under the supervision of prof. Mats Viberg and the co-supervision of prof. Thomas Eriksson and prof. Michail Matthaiou. I received the M.Sc. degree in information technology & electrical engineering from the ETH Zurich, Switzerland in 2012.

My research focuses on wireless communications, electromagnetic information theory, and signal processing, particularly on developing novel theories and baseband physical layer algorithms for distributed/cell-free massive MIMO, holographic MIMO, and large intelligent surfaces.
