Scania, as many other Swedish manufacturing companies, is experiencing a unique situation with a combination of paradigm shifts: Circularity, electrification, resource efficiency and sourcing restrictions.  The manufacturing sector is therefore more than ever looking into radical innovations in terms of product development, and this requires radical innovations of the production processes as well. Hence research in the field of manufacturing technologies has to keep the pace to assure global competitveness for Swedish manufacturing industry.
