Om mig
Kaung studied B.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering at Lehigh University, USA. Throughout his time there, he was involved in different research ranging from biomaterials, electroplating, to dissimilar metal welding. Afterwards, Kaung acquired his M.Sc. in Management and Innovation at Technical University of Munich, Germany. He worked with multi-material additive manufacturing, using Directed Energy Deposition (DED) with a plasma arc as the heat source. Currently, Kaung is working in the EU funded Green Steel project under Assistent Professor Alain Reiser, where he is building the Laser-induced Particle Impact Testing (LIPIT) lab for the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
Kaung is highly interested in and is always open for coffee to talk/brainstorm about
- startups, and innovation
- climate technology, bio-based alternatives, and sustainability
- fish
In his free-time, Kaung loves meddling with things, and building startups. He has won several competitions and awards in Germany, and has built 2 self-sustaining startups in Myanmar.
Master students, feel free to email me with interests, CV, recommendation letters, and send some time suggestions for master thesis projects. There is always something that can be developed in the LIPIT Lab.
