About me
Research areas:Experimental research of performance, aerodynamics, aeromechanics and heat transfer within the field of turbomachinery and rocket engines.
Research group: Turbomachinery & Propulsion
If I would describe my research profile it would be “an abstract thinking and pragmatic turbomachinery & propulsion researcher”. My research area deals with energy technologies and is linked to my PhD studies in applied fluid mechanics, and more specifically in turbomachinery experiments and my personal interest in heat and power technology. Turbomachinery includes all kind of rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors and turbines operated with different fluids: water, air, steam, gas or other organic fluids. My personal conviction is that sound and deep understanding can only be achieved with a combination of experimental- and analytical/numerical studies. It is within that new research ideas are produced which can be the start of a research question that may be completely new or a continuation of the previous research that brings the knowledge forward and advances the technology.
My research foci have since 2012 been in two different disciplines: Aerodynamics in relation to external cooling/cavity purge flows in turbines, and heat transfer & pyrolysis in rocket nozzle cooling channels. Within these areas I am networking both nationally and internationally and have mainly focused on a few high profiled conferences such as ASME Turbo Expo, European Turbomachinery Conference and International Aerospace Congress. Since I am active in a much applied research field it has been natural for me to seek a high degree of industry involvement in my research and therefore I have actively worked to find direct funding through commissioned research besides program funding applications with industry to governmental research agencies such as the Swedish Energy Agency, Vinnova and Swedish Space Agency.
