Om mig

Gunno Renman is a Professor Emeritus (from 2020) in land and water resources engineering. The research focuses on water treatment technologies, especially domestic wastewater treatment, landfill leachate treatment, road runoff, and remediation of polluted lakes and sea sediments. Water filtration methods with reactive filter materials in combination with sedimentation in ponds or wetlands are developed. Minerogenic granulated filter materials and sorbents are developed in collaboration with industry. These materials are designed to bind phosphorus, metals, or organic environmental toxins. Phosphorus-saturated materials are returned to agriculture or industry within the framework of a circular economy. The research on phosphorus recovery from wastewater sludge, lake and sea sediments is also being developed aiming at a technology to pick up valuable metals by magnetic separation, and in the case of sediments using sorbent capping and low-flow suction dredging.
