About me
I am a postdoc employed by KTH but currently working in Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris (IAP) in Paris. I work on gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), which are the most luminous events in the known universe. I have studied the connection of ultra-high energy cosmic rays to both high- and low-luminosity gamma-ray bursts, focusing on the emission from the co-accelerated electrons as a diagnostic. We have also developed an approximate method for modeling radiation mediated shocks (Kompaneets RMS approximation), which allowed us to fit a physical RMS model to GRB prompt data for the first time.
Apart from research, I enjoy teaching and am a teaching assistant in Modern Physics. Since 2020, I help tutor high-school students (~40 a year) who do their high-school projects on GRBs. I also enjoy speaking publicly, about my research specifically or astrophysics in general, so feel free to contact me with such requests.
