Gestaltning av framtidens energiomställning ur ett användarperspektiv (User-centred images of the future energy transition) was a project financed by the Swedish Energy Agency, where I was the project manager. The project, which were affiliated with Green Leap, aimed at eliciting people’s images of the future, especially in relation to energy security. The project produced a book Vitiden - an energy fiction.
Sustainable Lifestyles (Hållbara livsstilar) was a project where we through thourough user studies explored what barriers and drivers there are today in Sweden in order to transition to more sustainable livestyles. The project resulted in a Creative Commons licensed workshop material Målgruppsarenan to be used in order to explore different segments ideas, thoughts, drivers and barriers for a sustainable lifestyle in Sweden.
I have been the project manager for the project Collaborative sharing, which is a sub-project to ICTUS - ICT for Urban Sustainability, at CESC. The aim of Collaborative Sharing is to research critical factors for initiating and sustaining sharing initiatives. In particular, the sub-project aims at exploring the role of the municipality as well as the role of ICT as a tool in sharing resources. The sub-project is particularly interested in sharing initiatives with a positive environmental impact.
ICT for Sustainable Cities (ICIT), is a trans-disciplinary research project at CESC, researching smart sustainable cities from both a planning as well as a practice perspective. In particular I was interested in what promising and problematic ICT practices can be found in cities today, and how these practices could either be supported or prevented. The trans-disciplinarity at CESC is manifested in close collaboration with industry and public authority partners.
Förnybar energy för alla (Renewable Energy for Everyone) at Green Leap, where we looked at why so few households in Sweden have invested in photovoltaics (solar panels). We have done this through interviews with both owners and non-owners of photovoltaics, and have through collaboration with a design bureau explored hinders and drivers behind investing in photovoltaics. The aim have been to not only produce research knowledge, but towards also actively disseminate our results in a more popular science manner, so that the results can promote change to an energy system with a larger share of renewables. To that end, we have finalized Creative Commons licensed videos communicating our results, and we also organized an event at Almedalen 2014.
Användbarhet och Modellbaserad Förmågeutveckling (A&MbFU) a research and development project at the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) and the Swedish Armed Forces (SwAF). The main aim of the project was to introduce a greater focus on user-centredness in the early phases of the requirement and procurement processes. We were also commissioned to try out and evaluate different user-centred methods and activities. This project was one part of my PhD-studies.
Satsa Friskt och Användbar IT-stöd (AvI), in my years at Uppsala University, I was engaged with work environment issues at public authorities, and more particularly the development of the computer systems civic servants use in their daily work. The projects I worked with were action research oriented with an interventionist agenda in close collaboration with the union as well as employees at the public authorities at hand. We addressed the development processes, striving to increase the focus on users and introduce more user-centred methods and activities. The main aim was to support the organizations to become competent to continue the change process by themselves. This project was part of my PhD-studies.
