About me
Hamid is a Lab Manager and Research Engineer at the Lighting Design Division, with over 12 years of experience in lighting design, research, and teaching. His work focuses on advancing innovative research while fostering a collaborative and enriching learning environment for students. A key part of his role involves continuously upgrading and developing the Lighting Lab to ensure the highest standards of education and research.
Hamid holds two master's degrees: one in Architectural Lighting Design from KTH, and another in Sustainable Architecture from Iran University of Science and Technology. In addition to his role at KTH, he has been a guest lecturer at Konstfack since 2022. He is currently involved in several key projects, including:
- PLEXE (Platform for Lighting Effects Experimentation Environments): This project identifies, designs, implements, and validates infrastructural components to enhance living spaces and their supporting systems.
- Safety and Lighting in Metro Stations: In collaboration with SL and ABE-Urban and Regional Studies, this project aims to improve safety in metro stations through effective lighting design.
- NorDark: Focused on unconventional methods to inform sustainable design, this project mediates the needs of people and nature in Nordic after-dark environments (supported by NordForsk/Formas).
- LiSE (Learning-environment testbed for evaluating lighting benefits beyond retrofits): Supported by Energimyndigheten/Bertil och Britt Svenssons Stiftelse, this project evaluates the extended benefits of lighting in educational settings.
