Description of the SMaRT Research Program can be found here (external link)
Experimental physicist with a PhD in materials physics from KTH in 2007 and a thesis that focused mainly on angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES) investigations of correlated electron systems, e.g. high-temperature superconductors (HTSC). Also performed extensive work in soft x-ray ARPES on HTSC and laser-based time-resolved ARPES in semiconducting systems. Three postdoc years at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) in Switzerland gave the opportunity to broaden and become an expert in muon spin rotation/relaxation (μ+SR) and neutron scattering. Was during these years part of a close collaboration between Toyota Central Research & Development Labs (TCRDL) in Japan, PSI Switzerland, TRIUMF Canada, and ISIS United Kingdom. Contributed extensively to pioneering work in the field of energy-related materials (rechargeable batteries, hydrogen storage and fuel-cells), which has resulted in a large number of scientific publications. Then spent 2+2 years as a neutron scientist at the respected Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Zürich and then École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where the scientific focus was on energy materials as well as quantum spin systems studied by inelastic neutron scattering (INS). Returned to Sweden and KTH as an Assistant Professor in neutron scattering and is now a tenured associate professor at the Department of Applied Physics. Among other things, awarded a 4 year International Career Grant from the Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions, ‘Excellent Science’ pillar, Horizon 2020 of the European Commission and the Swedish Research Council (VR) along with a neutron project grant from the Swedish Research Council.
- Director of Studies, Swedish National Graduate School in Neutron Scattering (SwedNess)
- Member of the VR reference group for a Swedish ESS strategy
- President Elect. for the International Society for Muon Spin Spectroscopy (ISMS)
