About me
Christina works as both a practising architect and as a researcher. She is a teacher and researcher in human-environment interaction at the School of Architecture, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and , Stockholm, but also at other universities in Sweden and abroad. As a practising specialized in the physical environments influence on human behaviour, psychology and well-being at group and individual level in architectural design projects. Her practise includes also change management in relation to the physical environment. Her research interest is the influence of architecture on people in different respect at school, work and health facilities, but also urban settings. She has a special focus on how the office environment affects employees and organizations.
Christina is a member of the research group Arc●Plan. Her research field is interdisciplinary - it has its origins in architecture, but extends to fields such as environmental psychology, social psychology, sociology and CPTED (crime prevention through environmental design), occupational health and organization behavior. She is interested in how the environment affects individuals at group level from different perspectives and applies both qualitative and quantitative method in her research. She collaborates with researchers all over the world in her field of research, for example researchers at Cornell University, USA, Queensland University and Melbourne Business School, Australia.
She studies how the design of interior and exterior environment influences social sustainablity, which includes identification, sense of security, place coherence, but also health status. The latter includes perception of stress, sickness absence etc.), but also its influence on job satisfaction and satisfaction with the physical environment. Her recent research projects have examined the office environment’s influence on perception of leadership, workplace conflicts as well as the longitudinal influence on office employee well-being in various respects. In addition to this, Christina is also interested in the experience of architectural quality in various environment and the importance of architecture different dimensions play for satisfaction with an environment (work, school and elderly environments), as well as employees' view of an area or an organization.

TEACHING & SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS AT KTH AND OTHER UNIVERSITIES:
I teach and lecture both in courses and design studios at School of Architecture, KTH. For example, I lecture in the Schools and learning environment program, 2017 (1st level, Bachelor). In charge: Erik Wingqvist
In addition to doing my own research I teach and I supervise students at different levels on the physical environment´s influence on our psychology, behavior, well-being at various programs at KTH and other universities (in Sweden and abroad). This includes supervision on essay writing in courses as well as supervision of students´ individual work at master level and supervision of graduate students at PhD level.
