About me

I research on the theoretical framework behind the electromagnetic heating of gold nanoparticles submerged in biological tissue, which is a proposed method of non-invasive cancer treatment. The main research interest is to investigate the physical heating mechanisms when the applied radiation is in radiofrequencies. Radiofrequencies are of particular interest due to its longer reach in tissues which can enable the treatment of deeper tumors. The results of this research can be vital in determining the viability of this system as a form of cancer treatment, and a successful model may provide the parameters necessary to maximise heating within the tumor with minimum damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
